In WorkSpan, Sales Plans are structured to outline your goals so your entire team and partners stay aligned. Description, Objective & Accomplishments, Key Dates, Custom & Company Fields, and Comments support you in communicating what it is your team is aiming to accomplish, has achieved, who took action and when. Your team and partners can stay up-to-date at a glance.

Edit Description, Objectives, and Accomplishments in a Sales Plan

After you’ve determined your goals and KPIs, the next step is to define your objective and provide direction for your sales plan. Some information is provided through the sales plan template, but can be updated at any point in time.

1. Navigate to an Individual Sales Plan to update any section of that plan, view the description, details, audience information, objectives and/or accomplishments of that plan. For information about navigation, click here.

2. Hover over the Description, Plan Details, Audience Information and/or Objectives and Accomplishments panels on the Individual Sales Plan Strategy section to reveal the edit icon.

3. Clicking Edit” on the section you want to edit will open the edit view:

A. In the Description tab you can edit the Sales Plan Name, Description, and Template.

B. In the Plan Details tab you can edit the WorkSpace Primary Intent, Engagement Brief, History, Partners, Routes to Market, Classification, Themes, Activity Types, Product, and Services.

C. In the Audience Information tab you can add granular audience information, including Audience Profile, Audience Seniority, Audience Role, Industry, Region, Market Unit, Country, and Function/Department.

D. In the Objectives and Accomplishments tab you can edit your Objectives and Accomplishments. To add new Objectives and Accomplishments, click the “+ Objective” and/or the “+ Accomplishment” button.

4. Once completed, click “Save”.

Note: If you can’t find a panel, don’t worry! If a section of your Sales Plan has not been added yet, look to the bottom of your IndividualSales Plan, and click the “+ <field>” button at the bottom of theClick on the “+ <field>” button to open the corresponding tab to edit and add any information. Once information has been added, the panel will appear on the IndividualSales Plan.

 

Key Dates

View Key Dates

If you have a timeline in which you’d like to drive your sales plan, adding key dates is a great way to drive urgency and get results.

1. Navigate to an Individual Sales Plan to view the Key Dates of that plan. For information about navigation, click here.

2. Locate the Key Date panel on the right of the Individual Sales Plan Strategy section.

3. View all your key dates, or isolate your Upcoming Dates and Past Dates by using the selection buttons at the top of the Key Dates panel.

 

Edit and Add Key Dates

1. Navigate to an Individual Sales Plan to view the Key Dates of that plan. For information about navigation, click here.

2. Hover over the Key Date panel on the right of the Individual Sales Plan Strategy section to reveal the edit icon.

3. Click the “Edit Icon” to reveal the Edit Key Dates tab.

4. Add a new date or range by clicking the “Add” button at the top of either the Single Date and Date Range sections.

5. Delete a date by clicking the “X” icon next to the Date Descriptor.

6. Edit a date by clicking the “Down Arrow” icon next to the Date to reveal a calendar. And, Re-select a new date within the calendar.

7. Once done, click “Save”

 

Company and Custom Fields

Custom fields allow you to capture unique information through a customized form.

By filling out the sales template you have already updated the standard fields for your sales plan. However, if you would like to add, edit, or delete custom and company fields you can do at that bottom of the Individual Sales Plan Strategy section.

 

Navigate to your Custom/Company Field

1. Navigate to an Individual Sales PlanFor information about navigation, click here.

2. Locate and hover over the Custom Fields and/or Private Fields panels on the Individual Sales Plan Strategy section to reveal the edit icons.

3. To add, edit, or delete a custom/company field, click the “Create Custom Field” or “Create Company Field” button.

4. This will open the corresponding tab to edit, add, and delete any information.

 

Add your Custom/Company Field

1. To add a new field, click “Add” at the top left and select a custom field option.

2. Fill in the field details.

3. Once done, click “Save”.

 

Use your Custom/Company Fields

1. To use your new custom fields, click the "Edit" icon or the yellow "Fields" bar located in the Custom Fields panel.

2. Fill out the information on your custom fields.

3. Once done, click “Save”.

 

Edit and Reorder your Custom/Company Field

1. To edit and Reorder a field, click "Create Custom Fields".

2. Click on any of the information to make the necessary adjustments.

3. Reorder the fields by clicking and dragging on the field objects.

4. Once done, click “Save”.

 

Delete your Custom/Company Field

1. To delete a new field, click "Create Custom Fields"

2. Click the “Trash Can” icon located to the right of the field.

3. Once done, click “Save”.

 

Note:

If you can’t find a panel, do not worry! Keep an eye out for buttons at the bottom!

  1. Click on the “+ Custom Field” or “+ Company Field” buttons at the bottom of the Individual Sales Plan to open the corresponding tab.
  2. Upon the creation of the first field, an example will appear on the Create Custom Field tab to assist you creation.

  3. Review this example.

  4. Once information has been added and saved, the panel will appear at the bottom of your Individual Sales Plan.

 

 

Comments

No more emails and lost threads to track your team’s progress. Your comments are in context of your specific Sales Plans, consolidated in one place – which makes keeping your team informed and up-to-date attainable and automatic. All one has to do to check the status of your Sales Plan is to view the plan and comments in WorkSpan (and you don’t need to search your inbox like a blind bat 15 minutes before a meeting to know the status).

 

1. Scroll down to the Comments Section in your Sales Plan. For information about navigation, click here.

2. Click the comments section, and the comment edit tab will open

3. Write in your comment and press enter

4. You can also see your Sales Plan's Activity Log, clicking in the Activity Log tab, and subsequent categories of activities within that.
