Overview of Marketing Plans

In WorkSpan, Marketing Plans are structured to outline your goals so your entire team and partners stay aligned. Description, Objective & Accomplishments, Key Dates, and Custom Fields support you in communicating what it is your team is aiming to accomplish, has achieved, who took action and when. Your team and partners can stay up-to-date at a glance.

Edit Description, Objectives, and Accomplishments in a Marketing Plan

1. Navigate to an Individual Marketing Plan to update any section of that plan, view the description, details, audience information, objectives and/or accomplishments of that plan. For information about navigation, click here.

2. Hover over the Description, Marketing Plan Details, Audience Information and/or Objectives and Accomplishments panels on the Individual Marketing Plan Overview section to reveal the edit icon.

3. Clicking Edit” on the section you want to edit will open the edit view:

A. In the Description tab you can edit the Marketing Plan Name, Description, and Template.

B. In the Marketing Plan Details tab you can edit the WorkSpace Primary Intent, Engagement Brief, History, Partners, Routes to Market, Classification, Themes, Activity Types, Product, and Services.

C. In the Audience Information tab you can add granular audience information, including Audience Profile, Audience Seniority, Audience Role, Industry, Region, Market Unit, Country, and Function/Department.

D. In the Objectives and Accomplishments tab you can edit your Objectives and Accomplishments. To add new Objectives and Accomplishments, click the “+ Objective” and/or the “+ Accomplishment” button.

4. Once completed, click “Save”.

 

Note:

If you can’t find a panel, do not worry! Keep an eye out for buttons at the bottom!

  1. Click on the “+ Marketing Plan Details” button at the bottom of the Individual Marketing Plan to open the corresponding tab.
  2. Once the information has been added and saved, the panel will appear at the bottom of your Individual Marketing Plan.

View, Add, and Edit Key Dates

If you have a timeline in which you’d like to drive your marketing plan, adding key dates is a great way to drive urgency and get results.

1. Navigate to an Individual Marketing Plan to view the Key Dates of that plan. For information about navigation, click here.

2. Locate the Key Date panel on the right of the Individual Marketing Plan Overview section.

3. View all your key dates, or isolate your Upcoming Dates and Past Dates by using the selection buttons at the top of the Key Dates panel.

4. Hover over the Key Date panel on the right of the Individual Marketing Plan Overview section to reveal the edit icon.

5. Click the “Edit Icon” to reveal the Edit Key Dates tab.

6. Add a new date or range by clicking the “Add” button at the top of either the Single Date and Date Range sections.

7. Delete a date by clicking the “X” icon next to the Date Descriptor.

8. Edit a date by clicking the “Down Arrow” icon next to the Date to reveal a calendar. And, Re-select a new date within the calendar.

9. Once done, click “Save”

 

Custom Fields

Custom fields allow you to capture unique information through a customized form.

By filling out the marketing template you have already updated the standard fields for your marketing plan. However, if you would like to add, edit, or delete custom and company fields you can do at that bottom of the Individual Marketing Plan Overview section.

 

Navigate to your Custom Field

1. Navigate to an Individual Marketing PlanFor information about navigation, click here.

2. Locate and hover over the Custom Fields and/or Private Fields panels on the Individual Marketing Plan Overview section to reveal the edit icons.

3. To add, edit, or delete a custom/company field, click the “Create Custom Field” button.

4. This will open the corresponding tab to edit, add, and delete any information.

 

Add your Custom Field

1. To add a new field, click “Add” at the top left and select a custom field option.

2. Fill in the field details.

3. Once done, click “Save”.

 

Edit and Reorder your Custom Field

1. To edit and reorder a field, click "Create Custom Fields".

2. Click on any of the information to make the necessary adjustments.

3. Reorder the fields by clicking and dragging on the field objects.

4. Once done, click “Save”.

 

Delete your Custom Field

1. To delete a new field, click "Create Custom Fields"

2. Click the “Trash Can” icon located to the right of the field.

3. Once done, click “Save”.

 

Use your Custom Fields

1. To use your new custom fields, click the "Edit" icon or the yellow "Fields" bar located in the Custom Fields panel.

2. Fill out the information on your custom fields.

3. Once done, click “Save”. 

 

Note:

If you can’t find a panel, do not worry! Keep an eye out for buttons at the bottom!

  1. Click on the “+ Custom Field” or “+ Company Field” buttons at the bottom of the Individual Marketing Plan to open the corresponding tab.
  2. Upon the creation of the first field, an example will appear on the Create Custom Field tab to assist your creation. Review this example.
  3. Once the information has been added and saved, the panel will appear at the bottom of your Individual Marketing Plan.
