Overview

This guide outlines the process for upgrading your WorkSpan Salesforce App to the latest version. Upgrading ensures you can leverage the latest enhancements and new features, providing a more robust and efficient experience.

Key Benefits

Fresh installation

There are no specific steps required when the  WorkSpan Salesforce App  is installed for the first time. Simply follow the  regular installation process . 

Upgrade 

  1. Initiate the Upgrade: Click the link to start the latest WorkSpan Salesforce App installation.

  2. Log in to Salesforce: You will be prompted to enter the login credentials for the Salesforce Org where you want to install the package. Enter your username and password, then click Log In.

  3. Confirm Installation Details: Upon logging into WorkSpan Salesforce App with your credentials, you will be directed to the new package installation page, where you are required to input the installation key. Reach out to  support@workspan.com  via email to obtain the package installation key.

A screen will appear asking for confirmation. Select Install for Admins only and click Install.

  1. Approve Third-Party Access: A pop-up window for "Approve Third-Party Access" will appear. Check the box to confirm approval, then click Continue.

  1. Monitor Installation: The package installation will begin. A progress screen will be visible, showing the status of the upgrade.

  1. Verify Completion: Once the installation is complete, you will see a confirmation screen.

  2. Check Installed Packages: Navigate to Setup in your Salesforce org. In the Quick Find box, type "Installed Packages" and select the option.

  3. Confirm Package Version: On the Installed Packages page, locate the package named WorkSpan Ecosystem Cloud. The version number listed should be 1.39, confirming a successful upgrade.

Getting Started Checklist

  1. Assign permission sets.
  2. Make sure you have the “Customize Application” system permission.
  3. Enable the External Client App framework.
  4. Create a connection to a WorkSpan environment.
  5. Enable the integration.
  6. Create Partner records (if you are going to work with partners other than AWS and Microsoft Partner Center). 
  7. Create Microsoft Solution records (if you are going to utilize the Microsoft Partner Center flows.
  8. Disable the custom setting if you don’t want your AEs to be able to create new Opportunities from Referrals.
  9. Configure the purge job for logs.
